  • Pediatrician prescriptions and referrals for the outdoors (OutdoorRx)
  • Healthcare provider survey of physical activity counseling practices. Project is in collaboration with Kansas State University
  • Development of a web database of local parks and outdoor spaces for play in the High Country region of North Carolina (collaboration with Park Rx America)
  • Investigating the effectiveness of a student peer Outdoor Champion program at Appalachian State University to increase physical activity and improve mental health indicators among students
  • HOPE for Inclusion. A case study approach to implement Outdoor Rx with adults wtih physical or mental limitations to increase self-efficacy, autonomy, and nature affinity
  • Examining the relationship between nature and physical activity. Project is part of the Physical Activity Policy Research Network Plus (PAPRN+) Parks & Recreation workgroup
